Invisalign®

An treatment option for those who don't want the look and feel of traditional braces!

Invisalign® at Sleep Dentistry Melbourne

Invisalign® is a modern solution for straightening your teeth without traditional braces. It involves a series of clear, custom-made aligners that gradually shift your teeth into their proper ideal position for a straight smile. At Sleep Dentistry Melbourne, we are here to help you get the smile you want without the stress. We offer a relaxing and calming approach to dentistry for those who may suffer from dental anxiety.

What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® is a teeth-straightening system that uses a set of clear, removable aligners made from medical-grade plastic. Each aligner is custom fitted to your teeth and designed to gently shift them over time. You’ll wear each set of aligners for about 1-2 weeks before moving on to the next in the series, with the end goal of achieving a perfectly aligned smile.

The best part about it is that it’s virtually invisible. This makes it an attractive option for patients who want to straighten their teeth without the look of traditional braces.

Why Might I Need Invisalign®?

They are often recommended for patients dealing with various dental alignment issues, including, crowded teeth, gapped teeth ,overbites and under bites, cross bites and open bites. Correcting these issues not only improves the appearance of your smile but also contributes to better oral health. Misaligned teeth can lead to problems such as gum disease, tooth decay, and difficulty chewing.

The Invisalign® Process

During your initial consultation, we’ll evaluate your oral health and decide if this is the right solution. We’ll take X-rays, photos, and digital impressions of your teeth, which will be used to create a 3D treatment plan. Using advanced 3D imaging technology, we’ll design a series of custom aligners tailored to your specific needs. Each aligner is crafted to move your teeth little by little until they are in their ideal position. You’ll wear each set of aligners for about 20-22 hours a day, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. Every 1-2 weeks, you’ll switch to a new set of aligners, continuing the process until your teeth are perfectly aligned. We’ll schedule periodic check-ups to monitor your progress and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan. These appointments are typically every 6-8 weeks. Once your treatment is complete, you’ll be fitted with a retainer to ensure your teeth stay in their new position. Your new smile will be not only beautiful but also healthy and functional.
